Welcome to the Office of Instructional Development at UCR

The mission of  the Office of Instructional Development (OID) is to support instructional innovation and excellence at the University of California at Riverside.  With the support of the Office of Undergraduate Education OID has committed resources to fund instructional innovation Programs, instructuional innovation & excellence grants, development programs, and support services to promote the effective use of current and emerging instructional methodologies, pedagogues, and technologies to enhance teaching and learning opportunities on our campus.

2)  Major Instructional Support Grant for Undergraduate Education

THIS GRANT WILL BE REPLACING THE INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT AND MAJOR INSTRUCTIONAL IMPROVEMENT IN INNOVATION GRANTS.  THERE WILL BE ONE GRANT CALL IN SPRING TO FUND PROPOSALS IN THE 2009/2010 ACADEMIC YEAR.

INSTRUCTIONAL SPACE

HYPERSTRUCTION STUDIO

This innovative classroom can be scheduled for instruction for the entire quarter or for specific dates.  The classroom is designed to allow faculty to experiment with interactive pedagogical methods and a variety of instructional technologies.  Support is available to assist instructors in optimizing the instructional resources. The room can be scheduled by contacting gladis@ucr.edu

 

FLEX CLASSROOMS

Surge 171, Surge 172, Surge 173, INTS 1121, INTS 1125.   These Flex Classrooms are equipped with advanced instructional technologies and movable furniture that is ideal for team-based learning approaches. The rooms can be configured to meet individual faculty needs and teaching styles. These rooms can be scheduled through a Flex Classroom Grant or a Room Request

Innovative Teaching Award
The Innovative Teaching Award recognizes faculty who demonstrate exceptional effort and achievement in teaching innovation.  This award is presented every fall to one to two faculty.

SPOTLIGHT

 

For 2009/2010 academic year one grant category will be available for faculty proposals. The call to fund projects in 2009/2010 will be at the end of spring 2009, May 28, 2009.  Faculty are encouraged to begin thinking about proposal submissions, grant awards will range between $500 - $5,000.
